Ross,
Below is an e-mail, do you want to send this out to the representatives for each chapter along with the posters (posters have been updated)?
I will create a Google Document again to provide to the points of contact once we get the POCs.
Thanks,
Kate
Hello fellow B1G School Alum,
Thank you for your interest in participating in the 2nd Annual Colorado B1G Alumni Food Drive
to benefit the Food Bank of the Rockies. This year, the food drive will be from October 1st to October 8th. Last year together, we donated the equivalent (food & money) of 1,135 pound of food. We want to exceed that amount this year!
Please let Darcy (darcy...@gmail.com)
and Kate (jcb...@yahoo.com)
(Penn State) know who the school point of contact (POC) is. Every pound of food
or dollar donated is helpful to those in need, so please consider
participating.
We have attached two posters for you to handout at your events or
send out to raise word that you are collecting.
You can collect for the two weeks and do one drop off or you can
drop off each week. The Food Bank of the Rockies will weigh the food that you
bring in and will provide a receipt with the total weight. The Food Bank of the
Rockies is available on Saturdays for drop off from 9:30am to 3:30pm. If
you are unable to drop off the food on Saturdays then you are able to drop off
on M-F. The address for drop off is:
10700 E. 45th Ave.
Denver, CO 80239.
Once we have the POCs for each school we will send out a link for a Google Spreadsheet to update with each schools total donated amount.
If you have any questions or issues, please feel free to contact
Darcy and Kate.
Let's donate more food and raise more money than last year!
Thank you,
Darcy & Kate
I think a contact from each school will probably be good, especially to work out the logistics for weight/drop offs, etc.
Schools can send these to their watch bars to have displayed, and promote individually. We can also post to the Big Ten Facebook page.
Would you be willing to send everything out to the Big Ten group, and lead the charge similar to last year?
Also, you are correct the drive will be for the games on the 1st and 8th.
Thanks,
Ross

Hey everyone,
I'm sorry these were not done sooner, it was totally on my plate and I dropped the ball.
From my understanding, the food drive is the first two weekends, so October 1-9th.
Ross & Darcy - Do you want us to draft an e-mail like we did last year asking for a point of contact from each chapter? Or do you think it'd be easiest handled through the Facebook post?
Kate
Hi Darcy,
Yes, I think we could do both. This probably works out best for individual schools to promote, however we can also plug it on the Facebook page. Do you think this works best as an event, which may be challenging, since it's two weeks or just to plug as a post?
Also, do you have admin rights to the page? I'd be happy to give them to you, if you wanted to provide the content. If not, I can throw something on there.
Thanks for putting everything together.
Ross

We're working on flyers- will be out by Wed. Sorry, October snuck up!
PSU is going to use our current game watch events but do we want to make one Big 10 event for all schools to share since ain't don't have game watches?

Hi Darcy,
I wanted to follow up about the canned food drive. It starts this Saturday, and I was wondering how you wanted to handle it. We haven't done much in the way of promoting so far. I know this was something that Penn St. initiated last year.
Thanks,
Ross

Hi Darcy,
Hope you are doing well!
I know PSU took lead on the canned food drive last year, so I was wondering what your thoughts were on spreading the word out this year?
I think we could do a Facebook event, and name all the game watch locations or just do some posts. What do you think?
Also, I believe you had some flyers last year. Are these something you could modify the dates, and send to everyone again?
Also, would you like to set a Big Ten meeting before, since we had to cancel the last meeting, or should we do this all via emails?
Hopefully we can improve on our results from last year, so let me know if you have additional ideas.
Thanks!
