Dear Alumni Club Leaders,

 

“Giant Leaps @ Home,” Purdue University’s 2020 Homecoming celebration will take place virtually this year, from Monday, November 9, through Saturday, November 14. An email to alumni will be going out on Sunday evening to promote the full array of programming and activities scheduled throughout the week, driving people to the Giant Leaps @ Home website: www.purdue.edu/homecoming.

 

How Clubs and Networks will be highlighted this week:

·         Virtual Tent Row—Live chat with booth representatives from across campus daily from 1-2 pm ET:

o   Our Outreach team will be staffing a “Clubs and Networks” virtual booth M-F, spotlighting various clubs and networks throughout the week

§  Monday, 11/9: LGBTQ+ Alumni Network

§  Tuesday, 11/10: Purdue Black Alumni Organization

§  Wednesday, 11/11: International Networks

§  Thursday, 11/12: Affinity Networks (featuring Conductors and Grand Prix Alumni)

§  Friday, 11/13: Alumni Clubs

o   Purdue Women’s Network has a booth to publicize the recent convergence of President Council’s Women for Purdue network and PAA’s International Council of Purdue Women

·         Club and Network Challenge: $2,000 in scholarship gifts will be awarded!

o   A virtual scavenger hunt, via Goosechase app, will be open M-Sa

o   All eligible alumni clubs and networks with a minimum of 25 participants will be entered into a drawing to win one of four $500 scholarship bonus gifts

o   “Compete for Prizes” link will go live Monday, 11/9, on www.purdue.edu/homecoming

o   Participants play to win individual prizes, but also have the chance to join/represent a club or network team

o   Every club and network that has a scholarship fund held at Purdue is eligible and will be listed on the Goosechase app during registration.  Participants will need to select a club or network during registration to be represented on that team

o   At the conclusion of Homecoming week, we will randomly select four clubs and networks from all who are eligible, and each of their $500 scholarship gifts will be deposited into their scholarship account held at Purdue

 

How can Clubs and Networks promote Giant Leaps @ Home?

Images and suggested text for promoting Giant Leaps @ Home via social media are attached.  There are two options:

·         General – can be promoted via social media any time

·         Challenge/Virtual Scavenger Hunt – for clubs with scholarships at Purdue to promote via social media starting Monday, 11/9
