Purdue Football Game Watching

Hi Boilers! 

It's hard to believe we are less than a month away from football season. Our first football game is on 9/4 at 5pm against the Oregon State Beavers.  What do you guys think about hosting a game watching party at the Ice House?  I'm happy to help host the event.

Yeah I think it makes sense to host an official watch for the first game!

I will check with Purdue and see if there will be any specific requirements for events by then. Previously there needed to be approvals/guest lists/limits.

Unfortunately, Icehouse is still holding the 21+ rule.  We don't have any backup options planned at this time.

Heard back from Purdue...basically no restrictions now for events.

Here is the Updated Fall 2021 Protect Purdue Guidelines. The most pertinent for off-campus events is:

1.     Any University sponsored off-campus event, regardless of size or funding source, must comply with all local travel, event size and public health requirements.

Purdue also just sent this info out about streamlining the game watch communication process for emails and such...I think this would be a good idea to utilize. The only additional things we would need to do is create our usual facebook events/evite - maybe just do those for bigger games only? Thoughts?

Football season is almost upon us and we want to promote your game watch locations!

 

We are attempting to streamline the communication process for clubs who host Boilermaker football each week at the same location in order to reach local alumni efficiently and effectively.

 

How does it work?

·       We will have a dedicated webpage that lists all game watch locations. Featuring:

o   Club Name

o   Location Name

o   Location Address

o   Club Contact/Email

o   Facebook link

·       On the Sunday night/Monday morning prior to the next week’s game, an email will be sent to all alumni in these areas with the next opponent, game time, and link to the page.

 

Benefits to You!

·       Less forms to fill-out!

·       Purdue for Life can promote the webpage to alumni, friends, and fans.

·       No waiting for the announcement of game times. We have all that covered.

·       Same location for basketball? You will already be ready for Boilermaker basketball.

 

Submit the Football Game Watch survey by Wednesday, August 18!

I'm not sure I have all the logins to create events. If you can point me to the login sheet I should be able to do it or if it's easier feel free and create the events.

Hey Megan! You should be an admin of the fb page so you can create events and invite people - feel free to just look at an old event as a template. Doesnt have to have much other than the time/location.
