Can i collect custom metrics using agent and show those metrics on puppet dashboard by adding some custom UI elements to dashboard

Hi All,

We have a specific requirement to collect custom metrics from nodes in the cluster.

Is there a way that Puppet Agent will collect those metrics and send to puppet master.

Can i add custom UI elements to puppet dashboard to show those metrics?

I should imagine that if you wrote custom facts you'd get what you're after. If my understanding is correct facts get shipped to the puppet master as part of the inventory service.

Having said that puppet-dashboard will already show you what is in your inventory for each node if you have the inventory service and you have permissions set correctly.

As far as modifying the UI for custom stuff... you're on your own. :-)
