Hello group,

I am trying to run a puppet agent v3.2.2 against a puppet master with version 2.7.18, and I get this weird error:

Warning: Unable to fetch my node definition, but the agent run will continue:
Warning: Could not intern from pson: source '"#<Puppet::Node:0x7f' not in PSON!

The run fails with "module not found", which is definitely there and did work with an earlier version of puppet.

So my question here is - before I go crazy with debugging - can a puppet 3.2 client talk to a puppet 2.7 master? and where can I find a compatibility matrix? I didn't find anything on the puppetlabs pages so far.

thanks in advance & greetings,
Axel.

Never run an agent with a higher version than the master. This will not work. At least not running a 3.x agent against a 2.x master.

Thanks :) . Sounds like good advice, I have adjusted my setup now. Unfortunately that means doing a two-step bootstrap process of a new environment.

Greetings,
Axel.
