Puppet Enterprise 2017.1.1 is now available. The newest version helps scale Puppet across teams and environments with significantly improved data management capabilities. The release of Hiera 5 as part of Puppet Enterprise 2017.1.1 makes day-to-day usage more efficient and more easily understandable, as well easier to extend. This release includes improved visibility into data, the ability to have per-environment data hierarchies, simplified construction of hierarchy rules, and the ability to write and package Hiera backends as part of your Puppet modules.
