Prepare yourself for a tale so terrifying you'll think you're watching the news! Judy was just an average silver-haired hand puppet toiling away her twilight years in the soulless warehouse of an all-powerful online bookseller. Then one day she got pushed too far. Fed up with sleazy bosses, meaningless jobs and the destruction of the environment, Judy teams up with a band of like-minded feminists wearing suspiciously pointy hats.  Will their potions and incantations be enough to stop the evil billionaire cabal? Can an old-timey puppet show really start a revolution? What horrors will be unleashed by… THE POSSESSION OF JUDY?

"The Boxcutter Collective, a Brooklyn-based puppet troupe, is excited to bring their mad-scientist brand of revolution-inciting puppetry to Washington DC for the first time! Boxcutter Collective is made up of four members:Joe Therrien, Sam Wilson, Jason Hicks, and Tom Cunningham, who all met while working for The Bread and Puppet Theater. Since forming in 2016, they have been making insurrectionary puppet shows at a feverish pace trying to do their part to incite the revolutionary paradigm-shift that we all know our world needs. They believe cultural change precedes political change, and to do that we need to create a wellspring of new art that the public can see, digest, and internalize as a part of the recipe for collective transformation. In New York City, they have performed at LaMama Experimental Theater Club, Coney Island USA, The Jalopy Theater, Rubulad, Starr Bar, and on the street!"

“It’s rare to find a puppet theater on this planet with the kind of quality, integrity, and absolute hilariousness of the remarkable Boxcutter Collective. Their super creative use of puppets carries on the ancient tradition of irreverent and joyfully rude puppetry that has confronted injustice and tyranny from time immemorial. I wholeheartedly and enthusiastically recommend the Boxcutter Collective and their hilarious puppet shows.”

-Paul Zaloom, Puppeteer Extraordinaire!

"The BoxCutter Collective is NYC’s Punk Rock branch of world famous Bread and Puppet Theater. They’re always smart, super talented, and as tight as a four piece garage band."

-Dick Zigun, Mayor and Founder of Coney Island USA
