Provisioning and managing bare metal, VMs and cloud instances with Foreman

Note: This meeting is at 6:00pm NOT 6:30pm, and RSVP will open on
Thursday July 25th at 4:30pm.

Foreman is an open source tool to provision, configure and manage bare
metal, VMs and cloud instances, through a Web GUI and RESTful API.
Foreman also has deep integration with Puppet, an Open Source
configuration management framework. When Puppet and Foreman are
combined, one can manage any system from birth to decommissioning.

Foreman achieves this by interacting both with direct virtualization
and cloud APIs, in addition to interacting with an included proxy
application, called SmartProxy, that provides REST APIs to all
services required during the provisioning process. These services
include, DNS, DHCP, TFP, Kickstart, Puppet and the PuppetCA.

During this talk, Sam will overview Foreman's architecture and feature
set, including enterprise friendly features like RBAC and delegation.
He will also provide a demonstration, share the Foreman development
roadmap and overview the state of the community, including how to get
involved.
