Hi all,

We'll be doing our first Thursday meeting in 25 minutes from the time of this email (I'm not falling for the timezone trap again).

The link to join will be:

Unfortunately it seems that Google Hangouts are now being indexed somewhere and we're getting tons of strangers joining and leaving.  I can't really moderate it so you're possibly exposed to any kind of craziness.  We'll try to find a better solution going forward but for now, be warned, we're trapped with whoever swings by.

Yes, unfortunately public hangouts are all listed on G+ for anyone to find and you don't get any ability to kick people. You may be able to "ignore" someone in the hangout if they become a nuisance (https://support.google.com/hangouts/answer/2945109?hl=en), but I haven't tried that yet. That said, in the Puppet PR Triage hangouts we've had a few strange people show up and haven't had any major problems yet. Simply saying hello, and if you think they may not be fully aware of what the hangout is, just politely give them an explanation of what you are doing. After that most either drop immediately or stick around for a while, realize what you are doing, and drop eventually. Maybe they'll stick around and get interested in puppet modules! Who knows? :)

I noticed that hangouts are automatically posted to plus.google.com with the hashtag #hangoutspost. I'd like to think that deleting those g+ posts will stop that nonsense from happening but we've yet to verify it.
