Facter 3 cannot resolve the following facts if the lsb_release is not installed:

  • lsbdistrelease
  • lsbmajdistrelease
  • os.distro.codename
  • os.distro.id
  • os.distro.release.full"
  • os.distro.release.major

This was fixed in Facter 4 as part of this ticket https://tickets.puppetlabs.com/browse/FACT-2931
