Puppet / PUP-10371 Add metric for Puppet Agent run Issue Type: Improvement Assignee: Unassigned Created: 2020/03/16 12:34 AM Priority: Normal Reporter: Mihai Buzgau Currently, the total Puppet runtime  in the report sent to the server only covers the run_interval from Configurer:  https://github.com/puppetlabs/puppet/blob/master/lib/puppet/configurer.rb#L238 Before this, there are some steps that are not covered in this report for instance: the initial run of Facter for gathering facts creating Puppet cached directory structure We need to add a new metric that covers these times. Re: Add metric for Puppet Agent run This new `startup_time` metric also includes splaytime which really makes the total run time metric quite useless. Is that a bug or a  conscious decision?

Also, since splaytime is included in the calculation all config reports in Foreman have the same time stamp - HH:01. So it appears that all agents have run at the same time. ( we run puppet agents hourly and trigger the run at HH:01 with a splaylimit of 900s. )
