| Reports are highly compressible, but agents do not compress them when submitting them to puppetserver. It would also be good to compress facts when uploading them in the catalog request body or when (re)submitting facts directly. Puppetserver does not current accepted compressed request bodies. So for this epic, we would need to enable that in puppetserver, and modify the agent to detect that "capability" or have a agent setting to control whether to send compressed request bodies. Note the agent does support compressed response bodies (such as the catalog, file metadata and file content), but not request bodies. |
