The next release in the Puppet 7 series, Puppet 7.4.0, is now available!

The release contains bug fixes, security fixes, and minor improvements, including:

  • The apt package provider now allows you to install packages from a (?) local file using the source parameter.

  • The `useradd` provider now checks the `forcelocal` parameter and gets local information on the groups (from `/etc/groups`) and gid (from `/etc/passwd`) of the user when requested.

  • This release ships with Facter 4.0.50,

    • The AIX networking resolver now uses FFI to detect networking interfaces and IPs.

    • Improves the performance of blocking legacy facts.

    • Facter now prioritizes information from registry on Windows.
