Puppet Enterprise 2025.9 and 2023.8.9 are available! 

We’re pleased to announce the release of Puppet Enterprise (PE) 2025.9 and 2023.8.9, delivering improved operational visibility, expanded agent platform support, and important security fixes. 

Highlights in PE 2025.9 

Upgrading to this latest release brings critical security updates and fixes, alongside improved execution and visibility across patching and orchestration workflows. 

Advanced Patching 

• Realtime patch run visibility in the PE console, making it easier to track patch jobs as they progress across your estate. 
• Clearer error and warning messages when patch group creation fails, with guidance on how to remediate issues. 
• Retry failed patch group creation directly from the PE console or via the API.

Workflows 

• Edit workflows and stop running workflows directly from the PE console, giving operators more control when conditions change. 
• Equivalent API support for editing workflows and stopping workflow runs, giving teams flexibility to operate via UI or automation. 
  
  

Platform support 

• Agent support added for Debian 13 on amd64 and aarch64. 

Security and fixes 

• Multiple CVEs addressed across Puppet Enterprise, helping reduce exposure to known vulnerabilities. 
• Fixes include improvements to Advanced Patching behavior and Infra Assistant reliability.

Reminder: Lifecycle model update 

Starting with Puppet Enterprise 2026.0 (expected in August 2026) Puppet Enterprise will transition from the current STS/LTS model to the new ‘Latest’ and ‘Latest-1’ support model. For full details, see Puppet Enterprise Platform Support Lifecycle.
