I am trying to run pupil capture on a Scientific Linux 7. The fake capture is working. However, it is not detecting the eye tracker hardware. The eye tracker is connected through USB. When I select 'Local USB' on the 'Manager' drop down under 'Capture Selection'. Under the 'Activate source' drop down menu three unknown sources. Whichever is selected, it says "WORLD: The selected camera is already in use or blocked". What could be the problem?

Hi,

I m quite sure this has to do with USB user permissions. If you run as sudo it should work.

the proper way is to add your user to the 'plugdev' group.

```sh
sudo useradd -G plugdev USERNAME
```

Best,
Moritz

Hi Moritz,

Thank you. It worked when I ran it as sudo. It was indeed due to USB user permissions.

Best regards,
Bilal Chaudhry
