Hello,

Trying to run in ubuntu, however when I get to running the source code I'm getting this error:

ubuntu@ubuntu-VirtualBox:~/glfw$ cmake -G "Unix Makefiles" -DBUILD_SHARED_LIBS=TRUE
-- Could NOT find Doxygen (missing: DOXYGEN_EXECUTABLE)
-- Using X11 for window creation
-- Using GLX for context creation
CMake Error at CMakeLists.txt:227 (message):
The Xinerama library and headers were not found

-- Configuring incomplete, errors occurred!
See also "/home/ubuntu/glfw/CMakeFiles/CMakeOutput.log".
See also "/home/ubuntu/glfw/CMakeFiles/CMakeError.log".

What is Xinerama? How can I install this? (if that will solve the problem)

Many thanks!
Eleanor

Hi,

Reading the snippet it seams your trying to run ubuntu in a virtual box? I'm pretty sure this will lead to more trouble that benefit as the gl environment will be different than running natively.

If you can please run Ubuntu non-virtualized, even booting from a usb stick should be fine.

Best,

Moritz

Just to chip in with my related experience in case it helps: I managed to run the pre-compiled Capture software in an Ubuntu VM ok, but then struggled to get one of the webcams passed through, it turned out to be a Window 8 host issue. Using Windows 7 as a host solved it, but then the Ubuntu VM & Capture software only see the cameras as virtual webcams and hence couldn't manipulate specific camera settings, such as turning off auto-focus on the eye-cam etc.

Short version, a VM was more trouble than its worth :)

Hi, I ran into the same problem with a normal installation of Ubuntu. What worked for me was to run:

sudo apt-get install libxinerama-dev

Thanks! It seemed to like 'sudo apt-get install libxinerama-dev' I've hit another problem now though, so will try to get Ubuntu running not from a virtual box.
