Group is shutting down

Guys,

Due to some events unfolding over the weekend, a decision has been taken to shut down this group. Plenty of drama has taken place behind the scenes and frankly speaking none of us (the creators and moderators of this group) are interested in taking this cause any further. We managed 150+ members in 10 months and were going strong but have suddenly hit a road block which we cannot pass.

The intentions of starting this group were extremely noble but it seems others had different ideas. Anyway, I am not going into specifics here. I just find it very unfortunate !!

For me personally, it was great to interact with all of you. In fact, I am sure most of are going to stay in touch, maybe through some other channels now that this group won't exist.

Finally, I apologise to anyone and everyone about this.

Very sad Amogh. This group was one of the most informative about Punto. Unfortunately people outside dont appreciate this closely knit unit. We will definitely keep in touch through our personal email ids

Amogh thats sad. This was one big platform where we all share and learn about our favorite ride, I am hoping that most of us members stay in touch through some other means. Its a valuable experience to be a part of this group. Hoping that we still continue with the weekend meets and drive where we all can meet and exchange thoughts and most important the photo shootouts.

Surprised On this decision .....But who is stopping us from running
this group. Man, i know u from team - bhp, as a member , we all
deserve to know , why we are shutting down...if not in public than in
private domain ..

if u have pressure from somewhere or not interested ( which i doubt )
or may be not having time, the moderators hat can be passed on to
somebody else

Thats really sad.

This group has been immensely useful for me especially because there are several knowledgeable people around here and also because this is my first car. I chose the car against the recommendations of my friends - just because I loved it. The existence of this group just brought in more confidence in to the car the same way it brings confidence while driving it. Whenever somebody in this forum reports a problem about their car and discussed it here and finally arrived at a solution - It was like I was prepared to handle the same problem if and when it happened. That brought in a lot of confidence in to the car. And sometimes it is like precautions to be taken to stay away from the problem. Like the other friends in the group, I only hope that we are moving in to a better platform. Else if the news were true then we can discuss the real issue and sort out the problem. Come on - In India, What we have or not - we definitely have the right to voice out our opinion.

Face book is not a bad idea considering that photos/videos can be uploaded and there is a tab for discussions too. In the unfortunate event of the google group being inactive, if some of the threads can be moved to facebook, it would be great.

it IS such a nice place to see our hearts decision to own an FGP being
proven right with every new member joining. Such a lovely group where
every one helping out others with the the PUNTO learning curves, with
proper advices / suggestions and what not - I had become addicted to
reading the top messages every day to know more about my own car. NO,
it can't happen please.

And let's know the truth, if its the work load, let's share some
tasks? PLEASE.

Sorry to hear about it.
This is one group for all Punto owners/prospective buyers to help them
with all the issues or concerns.
Looks like we have run into some legal problems.
If at all thats the case please let us know how we can help in this
regard.
And if we are having too much hassles to handle it, we can have a
facebook group with the same name.
But dont know how we would be able to move the threads to facebook.

Best would be not the close down the group ..
Hope something positive comes out tomorrow.

Hi Amogh and all,

Its really sad to know that this group is shutting down... I trusted
this group more than the FIAT or TATA guys and was completely relying
on my friends in this group. Although I have not been very frequent on
this group with my comments, but I did read each and every post
whenever possible....

I just hope that Amogh comes out with some other channel if operating
on Google groups is an issue... I tried hard but cudnt figure out what
could be the reason and WHO could be behind this... I have some of my
guess but not very sure but I am sure Amogh would have had sufficient
reasons for closing it down....

I would just request everybody to join the new group which Amogh may
form soon... else request Amogh to let me know if there is something
which I can help him with.
