The layout of the book is very straightforward. It begins by defining the problem, explaining where it is that men stand in this battle: that is, assaulted on every side by every form of media and through our bodies themselves. It then goes on to point out how we came to this point (mixing standards, settling for less than perfection, by simply being male) and calls for a return to true manhood, to choose victory, and then explains how the authors believe this victory can be achieved. Their outline is to establish victory on three fronts, through the eyes, the mind, and the heart.
The authors present each case in a much more orderly fashion than that, but the pattern is the same, they throw everything they can at the reader in hopes that it will push the right buttons, whether that be guilt, desire for their spouse, desire for God, manhood, etc.

At the end of every section of the book is a piece called ïHeart of a Womanï where the authors had women read the book and provide their thoughts. The women had many interesting insights, though on the whole they simply expressed an inability to understand the mind of men.
But why review both books together? The one problem I find with this series, apart from the slightly American analogies about mustangs (is that like a horse?), is that it misses me, a single 23 year old, as a target. Every Man's Battle is concentrated on married men. Every Young Man's Battle is more concentrated on teenagers who are dating. However, between the two books I feel equipped for this battle and therefore I recommend that if you're a guy and you're not Jesus then both these books would be a blessing to you too.
I am a twentysomething single female whose heart is awed by the grace of God on display in grand scale wonders and minuscule everyday miracles. But I also struggle with allowing lesser pleasures to take my eyes away from him in the form of intense lust.
