Hi Trekkers,

If you like trekking plus riding then Sajjangadh is the best destination for you all.
Me and my friends (10 in total) decided for this destination on last saturday but ended up doing it on Sunday.

We decided to meet at Swargate at 7 A.M sharp but as you all know its an indian tendency to be late and we all met at 8 A.M.

We had breakfast at Katraj ( Kandapohe and Cutting ) and then started out riding at 8.30

We were 10 with 5 bikes.

Katraj Ghat was good and we had Dongarchi Maina at some point in the middle and then continued riding.

To reach Sajjangadh there are hopefully two routes :
     One which goes from Satara
and the other one we did not explore.

But it is better to go from Satara. We reached there by 12 noon.

There is Ramdas Swami temple on the fort which also consists some of the belongings of him.
Lunch is provided in the temple from 12 to what time i dont know. :D
Lunch consists of a vegetable, rice ,dal and lapshi. it is a stomach full lunch that they provide enough for you to walk the whole area.

There are many stalls on the fort. Some one said that there is one more place that you can visit named Thoseghar dhabdhaba.
But do not go on the name plate which states only 2 km from sajjangadh. But it actually is 20 km from sajjangadh.

We decided to go there went 10 km and then rain started heavily... None of us except me had raincoats.
So we had to return as we also have to come back to pune as it was a one day trip.

Thats how we started our return trip and reached pune at 9.30

Here's something which you can do if planning for this trip:

*  it should be a two day trip
*  rooms are available on the fort for a stay.

Cheers...
Saideep.

yes as i said there are stalls on the fort. so you can get a swiss knife there...not much to see other than the temple . at the back side of the temple there is a deep valley from which you can see one dam. that view is great...not much of trekking involved..bike goes till top. it would be better if you park you vehicle below and go trekking..that would be better.
