I came upon this swallow at sinhagad valley
Its size was slightly larger than the barn swallow
So i thought of clicking it

After getting this shot i realized it was something different
It had a red vent unlike anything i have ever seen
I searched for it in birds of the indian subcontinent book too
Wasnt satisfied with my search

Please help me identify this swallow

Do you have any other pic.

From this, its difficult to make any guess.

Can you compare its size with any other common bird.

@ramit singal
Red rum swallow doesnt have a red vent too
Thats the big catch
Cannot find anything with a red vent in the swallow family

How about you post a smaller image, possibly with a close crop as well?

The red is visible because of the rump, no? I am sorry but I cannot see red (or green, for that matter) :/ - all other *visible* features point towards Red-rumped Swallow.

Cheers
