INCREASING OUR FAITH IN GOD

 

Many times in our life we are faced with new challenges or opportunities but we worry and loose sleep over the changes they may bring to our life. Sometimes God gives us a new opportunity, a new job or a new dream. This can cause us to feel overwhelmed and question various aspects of our life. Nonetheless Baba Ji has assured us time after time that we are all in God’s hands. God gives the heaviest loads to those he knows can carry it, because "if god brings you to it, he will get you through it". On this notion, I am reminded of a story of two fishermen. One was an experienced fisherman, and the other was an amateur. Every time the experienced fisherman caught a fish, he quickly put it in his ice chest to keep it fresh. However whenever the inexperienced fisherman caught a big fish he repeatedly threw it back into the water. The experienced fisherman observed this all day and eventually asked, "Why are you throwing back all the big fish?" The inexperienced fisherman to his surprise replied, "I only have a small frying pan." This story is ironic because we are able to learn from the inexperienced fisherman that all he truly needed was a bigger frying pan. Sometimes like the fisherman, we throw back the big plans, big dreams, and new opportunities that God gives us because we not ready to increase our faith in God. We need to walk confidently that our lord almighty will take care of anything in our life and no plan is too big for God to handle.
