PAN Meeting on May 2nd 4:30 PM at Grubhup

Hi guys,

We are meeting at 4:30 pm at Grubshup on Sunday May 2nd.

Grubshup incase you don't know is on Law college road one red light before you hit Karve Road. It is just left of Swad Dining.

 

The agenda is as follows:

 

a) Introduction of Mentors and Investors

b) Understanding of the objective of PuneAngels

c) Deciding on how to work with entrepreneurs and scheduling the next meeting with entrepreneurs

d) Deciding on our working relationship with Indian Angels Network

I think it was a good start. We had a good discussion.

Some of the interesting points which emerged:

 

There is a huge scope for investing in lifestyle type of companies. Most of these companies are completely ignored by VCs since there is no easy exit. There would be people especially in the same domain who would be interested in investing in such companies on a profit sharing basis.

 

We should get in touch with Mumbai Angels, Indian Angels and other VCs and get them to refer companies from Pune which they are not willing to invest in because the business plan has some lacuna to Pune Angels. This will create a pool of startups who already have done some spadework.

 

We have to tie up with other groups like TIE so that we can offer a deeper pool of mentors.

 

We all agreed that we will typically be giving a mentorship + investment package so as to ensure success for the startup

 

 

 

I think we have now a decent pool of mentors + investors and should start inviting entrepreneurs who are interested in mentorship or mentorship + funding. So would request people to write in with their thoughts on the best way to go about this. Should we have an event, should we just post in groups ....

Hi Vikas,

Yes, I think we should start posting about PAN plans/ objective/ etc. in different grps. A POCC event or a session at SSPune meet will definitely help to create a buzz.

Apart from this, I think we should create a domain specific list of mentors. This will help us directing specific ideas/ entrepreneurs to a particular pool of mentors (or may be investors as well).

Hi Guys,

Have got a request from a startup who have a project management software based on the sas model. He is looking for funding. So he needs help in two counts

 

a) Help in review of his business plan

b) Help in funding

 

I have already requested Chetan to help in reviewing the business plan. Would like one more mentor to review the same.

Also if anybody is interested in funding then we can have a meeting with the startup team and take it from there.
