hi satellite friends,

we have some organizational notes for your about the following items:

- leave business cards
the lovely elaine dolecek will be making an elegant wall-mounted business card holder that will display our cards in the front room near the directory for east.  if everyone could bring in a generous stack of cards, we can make sure you are represented there!  please leave a stack with us or on the front table, and we can make sure they're neatly presented to the public.

- email directory updates
the directory is woefully out of date.  again!  but we can easily etch some new name placards for those who are not represented.  here's what we need from you, should you be one of these underrepresented studios: name (either yours or your company name), and area of expertise (for example, 'painting,' 'woodworking,' 'silkscreening,' etc.)

- bring food and drink
we think it would help make the environment friendly around the satellite to provide some light snacks and beverages too.  MAKEatx will provide hot tea, coffee and brita-filtered water!  we are asking that studios #0-5 bring one food and one drink item each to share with the public on both saturdays of east, and that studios #6-11 bring one food and one drink item each sunday of east.  if you need help determining appropriate items to bring, we are happy to make suggestions.

- hang art
if those of you who will be hanging art in the hallways would have your art up by wednesday the 13th, that would be wonderful.  rebecca will be filling in any leftover gaps on thursday.  here are some tips for hanging your art : typical spacing is 60 inches from midpoint to midpoint, but we might be more crowded than that!  that's okay.  let's just try to allow some breathing room between pieces if possible.  if you are leaving your work for someone else to hang, please make sure it has an appropriate method for hanging - hooks, wires, pins, whatever your work requires.

- be aware of possible art sales fees
the pump project usually takes a 20% commission on artwork sold on the artist's behalf.  should you not be present or represented by another studiomate, etc., there is a chance the pump project will levy this tax.  we are looking into proper east / pump project protocol, and we'll report back soon.  in the meantime, consider this in your pricing.

- leave art info
when you deliver your work, be sure to leave behind the titles, media, dimensions and price (if for sale, if not, please mark that too) of each piece so that we can label the items appropriately.

- help clean up
if you're free for clean-up on monday the 11th, we'd love to see you!  we'll be there working on our studio and the building at large.  we'll have music.  and brita water.  and if there are enough of us, the pump project has been known to sponsor pizza and beer and maybe some sparkling water.

update!  we misspoke: 60" is the appropriate height from the midpoint to the floor!  our bad.
