BIG NEWS: we have word from our member and EAST guest Laurie Frick that Jeanne Claire van Ryzin of the Austin-American Statesman will be writing a piece about notable EAST artists, and as a result, places to check out during EAST and it sounds like our building will be one of roughly three recommended stops.  we are expecting lots of austin art enthusiasts as a result.  very cool.  time to get things in order!

in addition to the curated show rebecca will be organizing in the gallery, we have designated walls for those of you who expressed an interest in participating in the east austin studio tour to hang your art.  you'll find your name or studio number posted on blue tape throughout the building.

please let us know if you have any questions or feel like you need more or less space.

all artwork for consideration in the gallery show should be delivered to MakeATX or Rebecca Marino by November 7th.  you are welcome to deliver artwork to MakeATX any time we are open.  see the 'hours' link below to check out our calendar.

if you want to come in and lend a hand with east preparations, we will be working on a pre-e.a.st. clean-up effort on Monday, November 11th and would love any help you can offer!

on that note, cleaning supplies like brooms, mops, buckets, dust pans, a random shovel, and the like, can now be found in the unmarked white-doored utility closet next door to the bathroom.  feel free to stop in and mop or sweet or tidy something up eve if you can't make it on november 11th!
