My husband, Aaron, and I agree that York is a special place, and York Public Schools is a big reason why. ABOUT OLD YORK HISTORICAL SOCIETY
Old York is a vital part of the York, Maine community. The organization maintains 18 buildings and 20 properties including the 17-acre Steedman Woods; has 2 full-time and 25 part-time employees; more than 20,000 artifacts and 50,000 archival and library materials; and serves thousands of people year-round through tours, educational programs, exhibits, and special events. It was formed in 1984 through the consolidation of three local organizations, including the Old Gaol Museum founded in 1900.
ABOUT YORK PUBLIC LIBRARY ASSOCIATION
York Public Library is located in the center of historic York Village. The library provides free access to a collection of more than 50,000+ books, magazines, newspapers, audiobooks, and DVDs for all ages and 9 million more through the Minerva and MaineCat networks. By way of Maine Infonet and the Maine State Library, YPL also offers free access to research databases and hundreds of thousands of e-books and downloadable audiobooks. YPL hosts over 300 programs annually and welcomes more than 60,000 visitors each year. York Public Library is owned and operated by the York Public Library Association, a 501c3 nonprofit organization founded in 1922.
YCCC is thrilled to welcome Denise Treacy to the team. In her role as a Student Success Coach, she will work closely with students advising, doing academic progress reviews, and providing other academic and student support services.
The Lyceum Gallery, located in the Montaukett Learning Resource Center on the Eastern Campus of Suffolk County Community College in Riverhead, will present the Eastern Campus Student Fine Arts Exhibit from April 17 - May 7, 2024. An opening reception will be held on Thursday, April 25 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Light refreshments will be served. All are welcome.
The images for York's welcome signs were chosen in collaboration with Make It York to promote different elements of the area, and highlight aspects of the city's rich culture, unique heritage and contribution to the world.
All the faithful are invited to welcome the Most Reverend Timothy C. Senior, Twelfth Bishop of Harrisburg, to the Diocese this summer, as he celebrates Mass in each of the Diocesan Deaneries. All Masses will be celebrated at 7 p.m. Please view the full schedule below for more details.
