Ijust had this problem too. Except I was selecting a bunch of images to create a photomerge. In my windows system, it displayed that I had a Bridge 2021 version and 2022. I uninstalled the 2021 version in my system's settings. Adobe CC popped up and asked if I wanted to delete the app from my system. I said yes and it only deleted the 2021 version and kept the 2022 version, without needing to redownload it. After this I was able to select my photos and move them onto photoshop. Hope this helps
I'm getting the same error message.
I tried both of your suggestions but neither worked.
I want to run Bridge 2022 rather than 2023 becase it's dead slow and doesn't have the "ew Window" option I need.
I have the latest version of Photoshop.
That's your problem: To be in "harmony," Bridge and PS need to be of the same vintage. Thus, if you want to use Bridge 2022, you need to install PS 2022. Also, it's important to install PS AFTER you install Bridge so PS can see that it's there and install the PS Scripts seen in the Tools menu.
Even with the latest version it does not work. Something in the code line is broken and ADOBE needs to fix it. I will not be allowing my students to use it until such a time and will show them how crappy adobe is compared to apple and why they should be buying apple software for video and photo editing. Super sad to see how Adobe is handling this. Defend them all you want but they have an issue.
After 5 hours of fighting all the versions and testing it this is the combo that worked for me. You can not have more than one version of PhotoShop on your machine at a time. Make sure you only have one version. Once you get the combo that works for you write it down incase you accidently update and you can then go back to what you were using.
@pankajg6675616 this association of Bridge version and Photoshop / ACR version is extremely customer unfriendly. You stick to this hostile strategy, even in a situation where many paying customers struggle with the most recent Bridge versions.
Ok, I installed Bridge 2023, don't like if for a couple of reasons, so uninstalled, but I now can't use any automated PS scripts from the old 2022 Bridge like 'load files into Phootoshop layers. I get the same error script. I've reset Bridge completely, made no issues, really don't want to have to uninstall/reinstall the whole lot, it's a pain. Is there a workaround. I'm guessing it's a registry issue to dow with path names etc. I'll reinstall the older version of PS to see if it makes any difference.
I have been using the subscription for several years and am fastidious about upgrading when I receive notifications. Since upgrading to the latest version of Bridge (11.1.4.213), I am unable to batch process any files in Photoshop because of the error message "Install latest version of Photoshop to continue..." I have confirmed that I am using the latest version of Photoshop (23.5.1), and have re-installed the latest version, to no avail. I am using a late-2013 27"inch iMac, running OS Catalina (10.15.7). Please help!
I am having a similar issue with Photoshop v24.1.1. Trying to open two files from Bridge v12.0.4 to merge to HDR. I get the dreaded "Install latest version of Photoshop". Do I need to uninstall / reinstall (or downgrade) Photoshop and Bridge?
Had this issue also maintaining Photoshop 23 and upgraded Bridge to 24, they are no longer in sync, so this is causing the problem, on Macmini M1 went to Force Quit and made sure no versions of Bridge or PS were open, then opened Creative Cloud, located my APPS and to the right of Bridge there are three dots, click on those and go to Other Versions, there I selected Bridge 13.4 installed that and Bridge is now compatible with PS 24, I will not upgrade PS to 25 until I can delete Acrobat Pro when the subscription times out, now that Adobe have doubled the price of the Photo Subscription to include ver 25.
Let me add to what Lumigraphics said: you need to install Photoshop AFTER you've installed Bridge. The reason for this is that the scripts you see under the Tools menu are not installed during the Bridge installation but during the other applications' installation. It would be bad form if these scripts were installed but failed to work because the wrong version of Photoshop was installed (see Lumigraphics comments) or for applications that you do not have installed (see Illustrator, Adobe).
What happens is that during installation, the various applications that could install scripts into Bridge look for Bridge. If Bridge is not there, or the wrong version of Bridge is installed, they will not install the scripts. So, be sure to install Bridge first and then the matching version of Photoshop (or other applications).
During the printer install, it recognized LRC and installed the proper plug-in for printing from LRC but, the install did NOT recognize PS and did NOT install the plug-in so that I could print from PS using File/Automate/pluginname.
The video is worth watching but, it does NOT address the issue I reported. When I ran the driver install, everything worked accordingly but the install program ONLY RECOGNIZED LRC and did NOT install the PS Plug-in files Consequently, PPL is not listed in File/Automate within Photoshop.
The printer driver for Apple can be an issue and in Ventura I don't event see where I can change the driver.
BUT I did manage to download the new drivers and my PPL now works in Photoshop again. That info is in the very first 10 minutes.
Interesting! I uninstalled the newer version of the texture tools and installed the legacy tools that I just downloaded, and nothing is showing up in the save options in Ps. Is there more to this than letting the wizard do the install?
I did a search of my PC and never found the dds64.8bi file that needed to be in the plugins folder, but I did find that file in an adobe creative cloud folder. I moved it to where it needed to be and now I have the legacy option to save a dds file in Ps. Seems to be working fine now. Thanks for your help with this!!
Downloaded and installed new version of Adobe Application Manager which magically turned into the new Creative Cloud window. Found the Photoshop CC entry and clicked "Install" after which the download took lots of minutes and then switched to an "Extracting Photoshop CC" message which took more minutes. Okay, now it's saying "Installing Photoshop CC." After a few minutes, seems stuck at 70%. After a few more minutes, it's still stuck at 70%.
Clicked the "x" button to stop the installation and waited for the "Install" button reappear. I pressed "Install" again and got the messages "Installing Photoshop CC" followed by "Extracting Photoshop CC" which is still on the screen. Down where the "Install" button was appeared the message "Extracting..." but that soon changed to "Waiting...". After 10 minutes of "Waiting...", I clicked the "x" next to the "waiting" message to cancel the "Photoshop CC" installation. The "Install" button returned almost immediately.
I went to the site then to the Download Center. I clicked on the "Photoshop" icon and then on the "Download" button on the "Photoshop CC" page. That action fired up the Creative Cloud app on my machine and the download started again. The first message is "Installing Photoshop CC" and the percentage value is increasing (good)! There's a little progress bar in the Creative Cloud window. The display changed from "Installing Photoshop CC (49%)" to "Extracting Photoshop CC..." and where the progress bar was in now the word "Extracting...". After a couple of minutes (maybe 3 or 4), the word "Extracting..." turned into "Waiting...". I think I hate this. The legend at the top of the Creative Cloud window still reads "Extracting Photoshop CC...". After 10-11 minutes, the message "Waiting..." is still there. Someone suggested "close your browser" to get the ball rolling again, so I closed Chrome at 11:47 PM. I still have the "Waiting..." message. I'm going to click "x" and try again. Did so at 11:48 PM. After taking a break (time now 11:59 PM), message is "Extracting..." but at 12:00 midnight the message changed to "Waiting...". What the heck is it waiting for? Behavior is identical to when browser was running. Now it's 12:12 AM and still "Waiting...". I suppose it'll be like this until morning. Maybe I should kill all other processes. Did so but no help. Now it's 12:55 AM and still "Waiting...".
Thanks Sam for letting us know that the given solution worked. Usually most of the old plugins that worked with CS6 should work with CC but you might take a second opinion from the plugin manufacturer just to be sure.
Adobe might think about creating some sort of timeout so that an error could be reported to the user. I'm not thrilled about having to run through all these work around steps. This is a bad first impression for a trial download.
I am having this issue now with Adobe CC 2.3.0.151 on Mac OS X. I don't want to go through the process of uninstalling everything, because I already have four working Adobe applications installed. It's just attempting to install another which is causing a problem.
I had more or less the same issue with the last update: the need to update PS/LR was recognized, but clicking "update" resulted in "waiting". For ever. No amount of rebooting, terminated all adobe related processes, etc helped. After reading everything I could find online over the past few years of these complaints, I resorted to CC Cleaner. Then to physically removing all shreds of legacy adobe applications and trials. Finally I had to wipe the entire drive of everything adobe related, and reinstalled from scratch. Fair enough, as it forced me to get rid of the cruft, but reinstalling and re-registering all of the plugins was awful.
