Hi Benjamin,
Does a tutorial exists for extracting Icesat waveform data and transforming it into GIS format? I am working on a project where I need to compare height from lidar to height derived from InSAR data.

As part of the NLAS project we have developed a set of readers and web services for accessing a large number of LiDAR formats including Icesat/GLAS data.

The problem is that right now for Icesat we have the readers ready for the new GLANL format (really 5 different formats) but the data isn't ready yet. They are still addressing some issues with the data.

We never pushed very hard on services and output formats for waveform data. What kind of GIS format are you thinking about?

Thank you for responding. I have never used full waveform lidar before. I was hoping it was possible to output the waveform into ascii text.

The CSV output in NLAS can include the waveform. Its really just a  non-scalar field and we write out the values in line in the CSV (with some delimiter).

When we get the Icesat online I'll send a note out to the list
