Hello,

just came across this nice video on full waveform processing from NEON staff scientist Keith Krause that really talks about all the important issues in one concise and accessible manner:

it also talk about the issue of not digitizing the whole waveform and thereby maybe missing the parts w are really interested in (such as the near ground waveform digitization that can be seen missing in the attached images from a prior thread). Often there is no chance we can get a ground point from a digitized waveform because the waveform digitizer stopped recording the (weak) signal long before the light actually reaches the ground as clearly visible in these two visualizations.
