Description
Pulse Alpha Testing
This group is the tester list for Pulse, a spaced-repetition flashcard app for Android. Joining this group is what gives you access to the closed test on Google Play.
What Pulse is: Pulse helps you actually remember what you study. It uses FSRS (Free Spaced Repetition Scheduler), a modern algorithm that adapts to how you personally forget, so you spend less time reviewing cards you already know and more on the ones you're about to lose. It has built-in review reminders, nested folders for organizing your decks, and works fully offline, with no account or internet connection required and optional sync across devices if you want it.
How to join the test: First, join this group with the same Google account you use on the Play Store. This is the most common thing people get wrong. If your phone is signed in to a different account than the one you join with, the app won't appear for you. Second, once you're in the group, open the opt-in link for the closed test: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.pulse.srs. Third, accept the invitation and install Pulse from the Play Store as normal.
What I'm asking of you: Please stay opted in for at least 14 days. Google requires a minimum number of continuously enrolled testers before the app can be released publicly, so leaving early genuinely sets the timeline back. Beyond that, just use it. Real usage is more useful to me than a checklist. If something breaks, feels awkward, or doesn't work the way you'd expect, I want to hear about it. Reminders not arriving on time is especially worth reporting, since Android's battery optimization behaves differently across manufacturers and I can't test every device myself. Mentioning your phone model helps a lot.
Feedback and contact: Email me directly at ramnik.software@gmail.com with bugs, suggestions, or questions. I read everything.
Cost: Pulse is free during the alpha, with no ads and nothing paywalled. It may become a paid product later, but anything I change about pricing will be announced openly rather than sprung on you.
