This looks pretty damn cool, actually:

If I'm reading correctly it's a secure x86 "virtual machine" running
within the browser. From Google.

If anyone has a few minutes to try it out, let us know what it's like.

It is very interesting to see quake running in a web browser. But i don´t know if this technology is really usefully. I didn´t understand why write a code in old style today instead to use a more modern language (java or .net) that have plain support in web environment.

A dosbox java implementation couldn´t have the same result?

I am so much wrong? :P

There is already an x86 emulator in Java

Well it's interesting because it solves he problem of "how to make fast code run in the browser securely and cross-platform" in a new way. Sun, Microsoft and Adobe made JIT compilers, Google makes an x86 emulator. It's huge, though (80MB download). If they got it down to a few megs and put a modern language with it, it could be a great game-development platform. Anyway, something to watch.

I just tried it out. Startup time is nil, and it has a LiveConnect-style connection. No hardware-accelerated graphics though - the Earth demo takes up 100% CPU. Most of the demos are less than 200KB compressed. The earth demo is 744KB compressed. Not bad. I'll definitely be watching this.

This seems interessant, was unable to get it to work :(

When a real plugin gets out it might be good
