"Timer already canceled" exception when working with Filters

My testers and I have somewhat frequently run into a "Timer already
canceled" exception when working with filters. There's no consistent
repro case, unfortunately, but it's happened to somebody else in the
past when they used the Label component, so I'm pretty convinced that
this issue is still lurking around.

I've sent you a screenshot that displays the stacktrace, as reported
by a user. Both single filters and filter chains are affected.

Cool, thanks for the stacktrace/screenshot. What's weird is the Timer is never cancelled, but I think it may have to do with restarting an applet that was already stopped. Making the Timer a static field was probably a bad design choice on my part - I'll try refactoring it as a member of the AppContext instead.

I believe this was the same exception thrown in the problem i was having many months ago...

I made a change that should fix it. Let me know how it goes. 
In hg - remember svn isn't updated anymore!
