Hi all!
I have no experience with PulpCore and this is my first time using it
(or at least, trying too). I'm running Mac OS X Lion and I've
downloaded the NetBeans plugin for PulpCore (I'm using NetBeans 7.0.1)
and it works fine. I have create a 'Quick' PulpCore template and the
program can run when I press the 'Run main project' button. But when I
build the project and open index.html in Safari it will tell me to go
download Java?! Why is this?

It might be that Java is disabled in Safari. Try Safari->Preferences->Security->Enable Java.

Nope, Java was already enabled. I probably should have told you that I
had verified this by running several Java applets.

Sorry, I don't know. Do the pulpcore examples work for you in Safari? Do your examples work in other browser? Etc.

UPDATE: I've tested it on Chrome and Firefox. Both work. So I seems
the way pulpcore.js is checking for Java is not supported by the
latest version of Safari. The applet still won't run though.. it says
pulpcore.platform.applet.CoreApplet was not found. I don't get it all,
since I've followed this tutorial point for point
http://groups.google.com/group/pulpcore/browse_thread/thread/2f59513cfd58e7bb
and PuplyDemo.class is in the root directory of myArchive.jar?

Hey Ben,

Up until a few months ago, Pulpcore worked fine in Safari. Some time around mid-summer, it stopped. I haven't had time to investigate -- I don't know if Java changed or Safari changed or both. Apparently, Apple is notoriously slow in keeping up with Java updates, as it maintains it's own version, and there have been many changes in the past few months. That may have something to do with the problem.

If I learn more, I'll post to this thread.

Mark
