Greetings, fellow Pythonistas.
I work for a really nice startup in the city (been with them from the very beginning, late 2014). The technology stack we've built so far is impressive (if I do say so myself. ;) My boss, our CTO, is excellent to work with and has my utmost respect, and our small team is sharp, excited, and a pleasure to work with. It's truly fun.
We're hiring, and I thought I'd check whether anyone in the group might be interested in joining us. Right now we're looking for back-end engineers (Python, C++, some Java), but there's also an open front-end role (restful http api design), and a data scientist role. Here's the official
Beeswax careers page. (And links to two
outdated articles about us.)
We're solving truly hard problems. For example, we currently respond to 1 million [complex] requests/second, and we'll be at 2 million/sec before long. We're in the ad-tech space, so we have challenging latency requirements - we have to respond to each of those requests in under 20ms. We also put a lot of thought into how to represent our data, which is (1) big, (2) in the critical serving path, and (3) must be available with sub-millisecond latency.
I'm happy to share more information, just ping me if you're interested. Thanks!

PS The company is in NYC but partial remote arrangements are possible.
