Hello PUGIP,
We don't have a presentation lined up for the October slot, and although I intended to have something put together to present in case of this, it unfortunately did not materialize.
I am talking to a speaker for the November meetup, so if all goes well we will resume our regularly scheduled meetings in November.
As an aside, if anyone knows of anyone (or is interested themselves) who would be interested in giving a talk to the group, please put them in touch with me.
Some ideas outside of presentations that I've been thinking of are:
"Show PUG/IP" - A very informal presentation of something you've build with Python related technologies that could be presented to the group for code review (if interested), functionality review, insight, ideas, etc. This would be something along the lines of a side project that you're working on - not something that you're doing for your job.
"Port this" - A group session where we could identify a particular library or module that has been written in another language (i.e. Ruby, Go, Java) and attempt to port it to Python. The project could live at
github.com/pugip.
I'd like to know what your thoughts are - so please feel free to reply to this and let me know what you're thinking.
Have a great October, and I really hope to see everyone in November!
Thanks!
- James
