Just curious...but have we checked and cleaned every fiber connection from Routers, security perimeters, switches and severs supporting the ABC connectivity?

Hi Craig,

I don't work for or attend Stanford.

The signal comes over the air to an aerial antenna. If there were a connection issue between Puffers receiving antenna and the equipment that is encoding the signal it would affect all the channels and not just one channel.

There could be external interference between the tower that is broadcasting KGOs signal and Standord that could be causing poor, intermittent or no reception.

I'm pretty sure that driving around with frequency analyzers and troubleshooting the issue is beyond the scope of their research project and their research budget.

Any reason you can't fix ABC?

Someone wrote the following in an attempt to answer a similar question:    "The problem with the ABC channel  is not the fault of the team at Puffer.   The ABC station in San Francisco, KGO, broadcasts a very weak signal to the area where the Stanford campus is located.  KGO is owned and operated by Disney ABC.  The company is notorious for under-powering their O&O signals.  To learn more about this problem, you may watch this YouTube Video.  The presenter believes that ABC has failed their viewers with this money saving strategy.     https://youtu.be/01pgKPoQdKc?si=Qc_gDcitUmabo5py    "   If you watch the Youtube video, more details are provided (you may need to view a 15 second ad ).

Can y'all stop complaining about the ABC signal? This site is a research project. It's not free cable. Enough.

agree with erus, I want to thank the team at puffer for having the project. Any and all channels are appreciated! no one should complain, as we should enoy the channels for as long as we have them.
