Pearl's Gurlz
Every Friday at 8:30pm, check schedule

Hosted by Aunt Pearl, seen widely locally in "Greater Tuna", also known as Tracy Parks, owner of Incanto, with her Gurlz: Angelica, Diva and Maury, known as "The Crazy Bitches", formerly "The Dirty Bitches". Foxy was the luminous guest star showing her super figure accentuated by beautifully designed dresses. Their followers number in the thousands and now they are spending early fall in Puerto Vallarta. Their shows always sell out at the Luna Lounge, Bucerías, Nayarit. Nagie and Diva opened with a weaving, breezy "Sway" in Spanish: "Quién será". The tone was set for a Mexican sojourn in Spanish.

It was evident immediately that mistress of ceremonies Aunt Pearl had spent much time in the Flea Markets shopping for that dear dress, let alone those nearly-priceless accessories, all accentuating the spirit of Mexico with the Independence Day festivities happening countrywide for several days. Red, Green and White, everywhere. Such taste arises in Tuna, Texas. The salute to some Latin female singers started with Natalie Jiménez. Foxy knew this woman's verve and style, performing two of her successes quite well in a flashy tight dress. Cabaret singer Astrid Hadad was captured by Maury brilliantly. Attached to her back was a large cart filled with figurines and adorned with ornaments.

These girls knew their lines and although all the songs were lip-synched, they were a solid part of the vocals and instrumentation. At times, one would stroll among the onlookers and possibly gather peso notes. Numerous singers were portrayed as Lucia Montez, Beatriz Adriana and Selena.

This is a super show to see some of the top female impersonators of Puerto Vallarta. Years of experience shone on stage and one could ascertain that these performers were professional and knew how to enthrall a crowd. Cumbia and ranchero banda music was presented and thoroughly enjoyed, witnessed by the body sways and movements of many of those present.

Diva ended the evening with a stunning set of songs by Spanish Rocío Dúrcal, who had performed often with Juan Gabriel, the godfather of Mexican music. Then the trio united in rousing fashion in a salute to female singers who left their impressions on millions of Mexicans.
