Im in need of add full NVMe support to the latest A11 BIOS on my Inspiron 3847 to connected to the PCIe x16 slot through a PCIe to NVMe adapter. Anyone out here that might already have them or may help? It will be much appreciated.

Make a dump of the current bios on the system with Intel FPT tool, version for your chipset, tool is in the ME tools section.

Then use guide: [[HowTo] Get full NVMe support for all Systems with an AMI UEFI BIOS - Special Topics / NVMe Support for old Systems - Win-Raid Forum -get-full-nvme-support-for-all-systems-with-an-ami-uefi-bios

I did what @MeatWar suggested to @Rikke_Cardoso for a Dell Inspiron 3847. However I have not flashed my firmware mod yet because I am not certain that I did everything right and this is the first time that I am attempting a bios mod.

That was a mistake! Where did you find that advice?
According to my Guide you have to insert the NVMe module below the undermost listed GUID module of the DXE Driver Volume. The search for the CSMCORE module had only the sense to find that specific Volume within the BIOS.

This is the end position of the respective CSMCORE volume, you have placed before this last GUID and should be placed after, as last DXE driver position on the volume.

Im having the same problem idk really know much about soldering and dont know the correct way to plug in the front panel Conectors to my motherboard if you can send a link to a picture of how you got it done that would would be appreciated.specs i5 4690k gtx 1070 8gb ddr3 dell inspiron 3847 motherboard

I have a desktop PC Dell Inspiron 3847. The motherboard has two PCI Express x1 card slots. It is running Windows 10.
I have the StartTech 2 Port PCI Express 1394a FireWire Card Part# PEX1394A2V2.
The StartTech card fits in the PC slot. When I power on the PC, nothing happens, no beeps, nothing on screen. The power light is lit and the fans run but that is all. I have tried the card in both PCIe slots.
When I remove the Startech card, the system powers on normally and Windows 10 is running normally.
How do I solve this problem?

If this setting is not available or you are still unable to boot while our card is installed after trying to change the PCIe version, it would be best to test the PEX1394A2V2 with a different model of computer to confirm if it experiences the same problem with a different model or if the issue is isolated to this Dell Inspiron 3847.

Thank you for your suggestions. However, I still need more help.
I have checked the Inspiron 3847 BIOS and there is no option related to the PCIe slots.
I have found some posts on the Internet that suggest PCIe ver 1 will not work with this PC. What PCIe version is this card?

Hey there, I've got a cheap $30 HDMI capture card (YK762H) that I'd like to make work with my Inspiron 3847 mobo. It doesn't register in device manager no matter what bios settings I use. I tried i...

PEX1394A2V2 does use PCIe 1.0. While PCIe slots that are newer versions of PCIe should be backwards compatible with cards that use older versions of PCIe, based on the information you found from Dell this unfortunately does not seem to be the case with the Inspiron 3847. As you are getting the same results with the Inspiron 9020, I suspect that it may not support PCIe 1.0 cards either.
