Is there any implementation so far for general HTTP pubsub? Are they
in the works? What's the status?

RabbitHub and Hookah (soon to be renamed to Miyamoto) are general pubsub implementations. A few of us are working on a plan for generalizing the PSHB spec to be basic HTTP pubsub and having the feed stuff be a sort of extension.--
