Hello, Boston Pubcampers!

Long time, no communication. I thought a few of the more coding inclined here might be interested in an hack day at WMFO on October 6. If you're interested, let me know and I'll get you hooked up with the Ops Director to join in.

This Saturday, we'll be hosting a Hackathon at the station! We'll be focusing on the Lyrics Scraper, which will prevent automation from playing songs with swear words during daytime hours. You can review the existing code on Github. We still need to add more lyrics sites, logging, regex matching in C++, and Rivendell integration, as well as refine our profanity filter. I think that with a room of people tackling these concurrently we will make some real progress.

However, if none of that strikes your fancy, any code or computing project that benefits WMFO is okay. For instance, our remote broadcasting units need some network configuration to get back online.

The Hackathon will be this Saturday, October 6, at the station, starting at 2PM and running until whenever. We can order pizza on the station's dime if we get enough work done. Bring your laptop and charger.
