Hey All,

I just heard from someone that SCAT in Somerville did not get any kind
of notice about the pubcamp, and probably isn't going to be able to
send anyone because now they don't have anyone free that day. I
reached out to some people at individual stations, but I thought that
someone was sending a notice to some kind of collective of Cable
Access Stations, and now I'm not sure if that happened because maybe
it was Nilagia was maybe that person? Does anyone know what that list
is? Can people who know these folks reach out to the groups below if
they haven't already or indicate that they have? I am happy to hack
away at ones where no one knows anyone, but thought I'd let ya'll
indicate whether that is the case or not first. In particular, I think
we need to cover the ground that Niliagia was originally going to
cover.

Thanks!
HK

Hey there,

I passed the word on to our ED as soon as this went live, who said she
would pass the invite on to folks at other public access centers in
the Metro Boston area, but yes, due to the fact that the date of the
conference was changed quite suddenly, which made it conflict with
previous personal and work commitments I have, I'm no longer on the
planning committee.

Here is a resource for PEG access in MA: http://massaccess.org/contact-info
and the Northeast Region in general: http://acm-ne.org/

But, there's not an email list just for Boston area PEG stations --
you do basically have to reach out to people on a one-by-one basis,
because otherwise, you're also getting people from as far away as
western MA, the Cape, and out of state with the regional one.

Hi Nilagia,

Thanks! I wasn't being critical of you at all--I totally understood
why you needed to step out of the planning process--I had just assumed
that someone else was covering this ground and realized that probably
no one was. I actually did go through the mass access website and sent
emails to a lot of people about a week ago but got a lot of
bouncebacks. I also contacted folks I knew at many access stations
(including SCAT actually!) a little farther afield than Boston. I
thought there was some kind of listserve though and I guess there's
not! I would love to get word to Boston Access at the very least. Both
of the people that I mailed to there bounced, and though I sent
something to the general info email, I have not seen any one from
there register....if you can think of folk there who might be
interested, please let them know!

Thanks, and looking forward to seeing you!

No worries, and for what it's worth, I did also send the invite to
some of my personal contacts at Arlington, Boston, Belmont, and a few
other access centers outside Boston -- and I know BNN's Executive
Director was forwarded the invite, although I have yet to hear back or
see a registrant from anyone there...

There is an access center list and I just forwarded some information to it.

I also sent the pubcamp invite to the SPJ New England list.

And I just sent the list directly to Dan Kennedy at Northeastern, although I'm pretty sure he saw my post to the Hacks/Hackers a couple of weeks ago.
