I hope this go-to page will help us report our activity to each other,
keep a tidy record and make the planning process transparent to all.
Let's try to keep this to what's actually happened and use our earlier
working document as our wish/assignment list. Sound good? --Annie

Thanks Annie — if anyone has agenda items, you can add them to the google doc at <http://docs.google.com/Doc?docid=0ASi_614JZyMEZHJoZHByZl8xZjcyMmt6Zjk&hl=en>. The big thing in my mind is to get the sponsorship plans going, so I’ll try to send out a draft RFP document before Friday for comments.

Sure thing, Chris. That link to our notes page also has some stuff from Heather regarding the Boston Public Media Camp mission statement. Folks should go there and add language they feel is important.

Since I don't think we reached any consensus on the local/national issue in time for Andy Carvin's budget preparations, I'm not sure where the debate stands. For the sake of including all voices, I've created this quick survey for Google group members to use so that we have a real sense of what the group wants to do. Whether we want to go national (and it's not too late), or stay local, we'll talk about how to move forward this Friday.

I'm still trying to work things out, so if there's anyone else who hasn't voiced their thoughts on the issue, please do as soon as possible.

thanks,

ac

After 24 hours, three votes. Two favor a national camp, one favors local. This is one of those times when "your vote counts!" Please help our earnest and well-intentioned public media camp planning group make the right choice. We don't want to waste our time or yours.

Hi folks,

We really need to nail this down asap. I’m getting very worried that it might not be possible to schedule any national camp before the end of the year because open venues are already beginning to vanish. At this point my personal preference is for you to go ahead and focus on a local camp and let me continue with plans for a national camp in DC. Unless there’s an overwhelming interest among all of you to host a national camp later this fall in lieu of a local one, I think you should stick with your original plan.

Thanks,

ac

Just voted. Thanks Andy and Annie.I totally understand Andy's
constraint time-frame for a national level pubcamp and I do urge the
other people to come and vote ASAP !

Hi there,
Just voted, and I wanted to introduce myself. I work mostly in the
Cambridge Public Schools teaching teachers and students media
production and technology. I've also done a bunch of work at various
cable access stations in the area, - BNN, CCTV, SCAT developing and
teaching documentary, journalism and new media classes.

I was at the 6/11 meeting at John Harvard's but I had to leave early.

I'm excited to be involved, although I'm not sure if I can make the
next meeting in Allston. Happy to be a part of the group and I look
forward to contributing however I can!

Bummer, Nilagia!
If you have some time to apply your writing talent to the mission statement we got started, that would be a great help before our meeting.

Thanks,
Annie

Hi all,

Unfortunately, it looks like the heat and humidity is high enough to
keep me indoors - due to asthma. So I'm going to have to miss this meeting.

Annie, regarding the mission statement draft ... do you mean Heather's
notes on our regular gdoc?

Regards,

Jason
