Not sure if you all saw that Joselin Mane mentioned our "phenomenal
event on Saturday" to his 5,175 Boston Twitter followers.
http://bostontweetup.com/bostontweetup-tv-episode-74-aug-15-2010/ (at
about 10:40)........I know this came up during the tour and was
dismissed due to lack of equipment, but are we SURE we can't stream
any of the sessions on the WGBH site? Seems like we would get a
substantial amount of interest. I've never done it, but I'm certainly
willing to try!

Streaming hasn't worked very well at the camps so far. You need people
to manage it constantly, since so much of the action takes place in the
audience. It also means every person talking needs to be mic'ed. Not
sure if it's worth it, unless you have a core group of volunteers
prepared to do all the heavy lifting.

What about live blogging? More detailed than a twitter feed, which can
be hard to follow. And then you end up with notes for each session. At
the beginning of each session, we can ask someone to volunteer (just
like we were going to anyway). Would have to set up a blogging account
- Tumblr (don't know it well)?

Or... we can just point people to the wiki, where we already agreed
we'd have people post session notes. And @PubCampBOS can regularly
tweet the link to a master page that has a link to each session's notes.

Live-blogging is definitely a good idea. We can set up accounts for
anyone who wants to liveblog at http://publicmediacamp.org. I'd just
need their email addresses to set it up.

In general, we should encourage people posting notes on the wiki, but
there's still room for liveblogging.

yeah, we don't have the capacity to live stream, and in fact didn't
even have the budget to video record and post after the fact, but I am
happy to mention that we are looking for a volunteer live-blogger in
tomorrow's mailout.

not even the capacity for a ustream stream? because I have a decent
external camera/mic for webstreaming ... and was thinking about at least
doing my own session, and maybe the opening and closing events ...

I am more concerned whether our limited wireless broadband can host
the stream very well since IT folks warned me a couple of times about
that. However, you can have a try if things can work out .

Again, we have a webpage on WGBH site (http://www.wgbh.org/
pubcampboston) for this event. It is a permanent link and we may be
able to embed the blog or post-event information over there. GBH
online teamed with us and that page was promoted on GBH home page
since this Monday.

P.S. WGBH.ORG websites can't be accessed on that day via our special
event Wireless SSID for the security reasons.

We did ustreams at previous camps and it kinda stank. Too many
concurrent sessions, hard to hear people, etc.
