What is/all's understanding/thought of the photo?

This is the first time I see it. Lots of backs, clever! The muses of Pink Floyd? Does the water symbolize anything? Or the boundary between water and land?

In its simplest form there lies another Storm pun. Do you see it? But there could be more...

No... nothing comes to mind.

Well at first glance the albums are assembled in chronology, except The Wall and Animals. AHM 1970, Relics 1971, Darkside 1973, WYWH 1975, The Wall 1979, Animals 1977. So, I believe Storm is saying the "The Wall" between the members of the band came up after WYWH and Animals. Could there be more?

Good point, the chronology of albums is broken by Animals being placed after The Wall. I don't know when the conflict between Roger and the rest of the band started but now that I am looking at the picture, The Wall is placed between two symbols of duality: two guys shaking hands on the left (WYWH) and two factory chimneys on the right (Animals). The Animals album cover has four chimneys but only two chimneys are painted on the last woman's back.

Oh, I just found an alternative cover of the Back Catalogue where one of the women is slipping into the pool. It is the Wall woman. Woo, the wall is coming down!

I have never seen the other version. It's funny you mention duality. Notice that AHM and Relics are physically touching each other. The same for the middle two and the third set... any thoughts?

I have no thoughts about that. But The Wall woman is the only one who is propping herself up on the ground behind her. The tiles on the ground look a bit similar to the bricks in the wall. Maybe the idea was that the wall is associated with the ground rather than with the water. Then again the wall seems to be getting submerged in the water in the alternative picture.
