Hi,

Probably, I am missing something, but if, with XKOS [1], instances of skos:Concept can be linked to instances of skos:ClassificationLevel via skos:member and those in turn can be linked to an instance of skos:ConceptScheme (aka a classification) via skos:inScheme, how can an instance of xkos:ConceptAssociation linking two instances of skos:Concept be linked to an instance of skos:ConceptScheme?

Wouldn't one need that in order to explicitly say that according to a specific classification, two skos:Concepts have the following relationship?

Best,

Benedikt

Benedikt,

xkos:ConceptAssociation is not for associating concepts *within* a scheme, but *between* schemes. A group of concept associations is called a “correspondence table” or “concordance”, modelled as the xkos:Correspondence class.

I believe that there is a constraint that all the source concepts in the concept associations of a concordance come all from the same scheme, as do all the target concepts. This isn't explicit in the RDFS, though, AFAICT.

Best,
Richard

Hi Richard,

Ah, thanks for the clarifications.

Best,

Benedikt
