Have you ever felt trapped in your job? The feeling that you hate everything about your work and that you are stuck doing the same thing day in and day out because you cant afford not have that job?

I have. I shouldn’t complain, I’m in a great industry with good people, a good income and easy work – but it feels like it sucks at my very soul to be there. I don’t know if you can relate to the way I feel about my job, but I wake up every morning with a sense of total apathy. Like its almost physically impossible to get up out of bed. Of course every day I manage to get up and go to work, counting down every hour til lunch, then every hour til I can go home. Counting every day til the weekend.

By Friday night I leave work with a feeling of elation. The feeling of relief. The weekend is here and I can be free! But all too soon Monday rears its ugly head again and we begin the vicious cycle all over again.

Imagine if life didn’t have to be like this?

One day I sat down and thought, what do I do? So I started going through my options under the heading – What To Do When You Hate Your Job.

1.Do NOTHING – this is obviously the easiest option and the option that I always seemed to choose. I mean, life isn’t that bad is it? Everyone feels like this don’t they? It’s been proven that people won’t change until the pain becomes greater than the effort it takes to change. I decided this is true for me – so not a good option.

2.Find a new job – I have been trying this but with little success. Its not that I’m not great at what I do – I really am, but I just don’t seem to be competitive enough in the job market. It doesn’t help that there is so much competition right now from the high unemployment in Australia. But then I really thought about it – getting a new job is changing some of the variables I don’t like, but in the end I just know I’m going to end up right back where I am now – feeling trapped in another job.

3.Try a new industry – This is always an option, but to go into another industry I need to learn a whole new set of skills. Possibly go back to University and get a degree. But I cant afford to that – I have a mortgage and bills to be paid. I cant afford to be a student again, to be under that much stress.

4.Find another way – I did my research and decided that I want to have time as well as money. That I wanted to be my own boss and dictate how I worked and how much money I was worth. This is what I chose and what I am doing – creating my own wealth.

Imagine what it would be like to sleep to whatever time in the morning you wanted. To jump out of bed ready to face the day. To know that every effort of work you produce goes to building your future wealth not just your weekly pay check. To have the time freedom that allows you to choose the hours you want to work and the hours you want to play. To be able to work from home and never have to battle with the peak hour traffic or public transport again. To be able to work from anywhere in the world that has an internet connection. To know that you and your family will always be able to pay the bills and never have to struggle again.

This is my dream and soon my reality.

Whatever your dreams may be, you can achieve them just like I did. Go to the link in the author section to find out how.
