Many like to move around and see the world. They like to travel and stop everywhere to take picture to keep as some kind of memorabilia. Las Vegas helicopters tours to the Grand Canyon are something that became very popular amongst these people.
Some people do not know what this place is where you will be going. This is a kind of a gorge that has extremely steep sides. This gorge is something that has been carved by the river called the Colorado River.
This gorge is known to be about two hundred and seventy seven miles long. It is also very wide with the width standing at eighteen mile. The depth of this gorge is about six thousand feet.
This gorge has been formed over about the past forty million years. This gorge is also a very big tourist attraction. There are about five million people that visit this gorge on a yearly basis.
It has been discovered that about eighty three present of these visitors is from the United States itself. There is only one side of the gorge that is open for visitors and tourists right through the year. The side that is open throughout the year is called the South Rim.
The only things that can go wrong here is if the weather does not allow for visitors or tourists to visit the site. Other than that, anyone is welcome to come almost anytime. The other side that is known as the North Rim is usually only open from about mid-May through to mid- October.
There is a couple of different activities that the tourists can do when they get there. The first popular and very obvious activity that they can do is some site seeing. This will usually be done from the South Rim.
The South Rim is about seven thousand feet above sea level. This is the reason why it is a very popular site for sightseeing. Some other activities that can be done by the tourists will include things like hiking, running, rafting and the flying over the gorge.
There is one more very popular thing that the tourists can do when they visit this gorge. This activity is known as the G. C ultra-marathon. This marathon is about seventy eight miles long.
The runners will usually do this marathon or race over twenty-four hours. It is also possible for the tourists to get to the floor of the gorge. You can use a boat, start at the top of the river, and then go down.
You can also take the hiking trail and walk down. This will give you another point of view. This is something that can be enjoyed by the whole family.
The whole family can enjoy the traveling in the air from the one amazing place to another amazing place. The family bonds can grow and the family can spend some quality time together. Here they will also learn how to help each other and how to stand together.
