Today in most western cultures Chinese medicine is considered a "new alternative" medicine. In reality Acupuncture are practiced medical treatments that are over 5,000 years old. Basically, Acupuncture is the insertion of very fine needles, (sometimes in conjunction with electrical stimulus), on the body's surface, in order to influence physiological functioning of the body. Chinese medicine has been around since the start of time and is more widely used now than ever before. There are many different systems that are included in Chinese medicine and one of the most significant and one of the most popular relationships of all here is the one between alternative acupuncture and Chinese medicine.
When it comes to alternative acupuncture and Chinese medicine, one of the most important things that you need to know is that you need to understand the actual intent of the therapy itself in order to get the best results. The goal of acupuncture therapy is to promote health and to alleviate pain and suffering. It is the technique of inserting thin needles through the skin at certain specific points on the body in order to control pain and other symptoms.Acupuncture can also be used in conjunction with heat produced by burning specific herbs, this is called Moxibustion. In addition, a non-invasive method of massage therapy, called Acupressure, can also be effective.
The person performing the acupuncture therapy is known as an acupuncturist, and they are able to influence health and sickness by stimulating certain areas on the body that are known as meridians. It is now one of the most popular therapies in the world and one that evolved from principles and philosophies that are truly unique to oriental thinking and medicine in general. There are many diseases that can be treated successfully by Acupuncture or its related treatments. Also remember that you can use Chinese medicine, acupuncture or other, in conjunction with more conservative methods of treatment, such as prescription medication for instance. Your health should come before anything, and so although alternative and natural medicine can be incredibly effective, if your illness or disease is very advanced you may have to rely on conventional methods of treatment, at least until you get the problem until control. The philosophy behind Chinese medicine is that each patient should be treated as a whole and that the focus should be on their entire well being rather than just on the symptoms they are presently experiencing.
