I've created a simple wiki page under the blueprints namespace to
collect examples of video websites home-pages, if you guys have some
others to contribute, please feel free :)

Criei uma página no wiki para coletar diversos screenshots de home
pages de websites relacionados a video na web, se vcs tiverem outros
para contribuir por favor me avise :)

Interesting, nice research.

Something that I noticed is that I didn't know many of these entry pages even though I knew the site (heck I didn't remember what vimeo and youtube front page looked like!).  So the point is that the individual video pages are probably even more important, and it would be cool to gather screenshots of the video pages from these sites as well.

If you plan to explore even more,  since videos are ultimately seen by their still images, photo only sites probably apply here as well, so screenshots of flickr, smugmug, photobucket, picasaweb, deviantart could be useful as well.

Attaching pics of Dailymotion and Collegehumor that I noticed missing from the list (I couldn't find how to submit new files for the wiki page... I always have problems understanding how dokuwiki works...)

Yep, that's true, and that's why we also started by the video detail page as well (see http://wiki.publicvideos.org/dev/blueprints/video_detail_page ) that is the single most important template for the site at the moment.

I did that research in home pages because eventually we will (probably) need one, and I have no idea of what should go on our home yet, the detail page is easier. But still, having a similar study page comparing what others are doing for the detail page is a nice suggestion, I will create that page and reply on this thread =)

Thanks! I will update the doc!

Ok, the boilerplate it's there:

I will fill in the gaps later, and if anyone wants to hop-in this task, by all means, feel free :)
