Google just sent out a notice of changes to their Adsense publishers that they are changing the manner in which they treat subdomains, where they are eliminating support for subdomains that are not on the PSL or directly managed by partners on March 20, 2023.

That guidance [LINK: https://support.google.com/adsense/answer/12170421] refers people to the PSL.  While it does not explicitly direct people to request an entry, it is hard to envision this will not increase the volume of issues and pull requests.

It was not delightful to have to invest some US Holiday time today in reacting / proactively adding links, I have done so to help not deny Google Adsense teams the opportunity to support their own customers and experience the 'energy' that first contact brings in making these abrupt changes.

Google Adsense should also invest their own resources to field the time-consuming qualification dialog which needs to occur to review with their customer IF request of a PSL entry will break things.

Here is the notice text related to subdomains (as of 2023-02-20):

Subdomains

You'll no longer be able to add or manage subdomains that are part of an existing site on your Sites page. Any existing subdomains in your account that belong to a site will be removed. This will not impact ad serving or your earnings.

To review which sites have subdomains, visit your Sites page and look for the "subdomains" annotation in the table (e.g., example.com in the screenshot above.)

Blocking controls for subdomains

Any existing blocking controls for a subdomain (as defined above) will be promoted to the domain level. For example, if you have blocking controls configured for example.com and subdomain.example.com, the combination of those settings will be applied to example.com.

Blocking controls for subdomains shown at the top level view of the "Sites" table will remain in place (e.g., website.blogspot.com in the screenshot above).

Important: We'll make this change for you automatically after March 20, 2023. To opt out, please click the link in the email we sent you by March 13, 2023. If you opt out, your subdomain blocks will be deleted.
