Hi-

From time to time, I stand up and volunteer at the cctld tech day at ICANN meetings to help TLD admins understand our processes and the benefits of doing periodic reviews of their entries.

I have 15 minutes before the lunch break on the 11th of March where I can discuss the PSL again, and it was just before our github transition the last time I presented, so the validation and github changes are new

I wanted to ask if there was anything else that would be important to present, respecting there is a very limited timeslot.

anyone?

I am really confused by this question, or how it has anything to do with the manner a ccTLD administrator at a registry would interact with the Public Suffix List.

Could you explain the question a bit more?  Maybe I am missing something obvious.

Hi Jothan,

Thanks for the support. Given the short slot, I would focus on:

1. What it is the list, what's the effect of being listed
2. How the process of submitting/amending entries work
3. Emphasise the importance of cooperating, especially if you are a registry

Thanks Simone

The BRIEF presentation went well

We received a compliment on the test suite, and also, unexpectedly, kind and respectful words paying respect to Gerv from the Mic queue.

John Levine mentioned we have some listings in the ICANN section (in the 2012 new tlds section) which have cancelled their TLDs ( dotBrands that changed their minds )

He offered some code and URLs to automate or audit this.

We are probably not hurting anything to have those listings present, but my bias would be we pull those that are clearly not going to be active or in the ICP3 / IANA root zone or otherwise I* defined.

Thanks for the update, Jothan!

I agree that it'd be good to expunge those. A few of our existing scripts have done so, as we've picked them up, but if folks are aware that we've got data consistency issues, it'd be great to file bugs (at the least), and it sounds like even better, patches may be submitted :)

Hi Jothan,

Thanks for the update.

Do you have a list? I've gone through different removals lately, I generally follow up in response to ICANN updates to the IANA WHOIS (which I monitor with this tool).
It's possible something is missing. I'll be happy to follow up.
